Abstract

ABSTRACT

The objectives of the research are to know the effect of  capital and selling price management  of  palm sugar and their elasticity on  frequency and  selling volume in rural West Lombok.  Descriptive method and survay technique were used for the study.  Narmada and Gunung Sari sub-districts were sellected purpossively as samples  due to the fact that higher production  of  palm sugar was found in these two sub-districts. Forty traders of palm sugar were chosen as respondents using quota sampling technique that represent traders from Lendang Bajur and Sidemen markets in Gunung Sari, 13 and 10 respondents respectively. In Narmada sub-district 10 and 7 respondents were selected from Narmada and Ndut markets respectively. Multiple regression Cobb-Douglas model was applied for data analysis. The result of the study indicate that capital management has significant effect on selling volume and frequency with elasticity coefficient 0,05 and 0,91 respectively; while selling price has significant effect only on selling volume with elasticity coefficient  -0,81.
