Adoption of Up Land Farming Conservation Technologies and Their Impacts on Production and Consumption of Farmer Households in Central Sekotong - West Lombok

            Tulisan ini memberi gambaran tentang dampak adopsi teknologi usahatani konservasi lahan kering terhadap produksi dan konsumsi pangan dan non pangan rumahtangga adopter. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei dan pengumpulan data dengan kombinasi metode observasi serta wawancara intensif terhadap petani adopter dan non adopter masing-masing 35 orang serta dilengkapi dengan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adopsi teknologi konservasi tergolong sedang dan adopsinya berdampak positip terhadap produksi dan pendapatan usahatani adopter sehingga meningkatkan kemampuan permodalan kegiatan produktif lainnya. Selain itu, adopsi teknologi tersebut mengakibatkan meningkatnya kuantitas dan kualitas konsumsi pangan dan non-pangan keluarga petani adopter.

ABSTRACT

             This article gives the picture of impacts of adoption of up land farming conservation technologies on production and food and non-food consumption of farmer households. This research used survey method. The data were collected by interviewing 35 farmers who adopted the technology and 35 farmers as non-adopters. Secondary data were also colleted. Results of this research indicate that the farmers have adopted the conservation technologies by a medium level and has positively affected farm production and farmers’ income as well as increased funding capacity to run their farms. Additionally, the adoption of the technologies increased the quantity and the quality of food and non-food consumptions of the farm households.
