Abstract

The urgency of this research focuses on the importance of food security for sustainable development, especially in cities with increasing populations like Palopo. The limited agricultural land caused by urbanization presents a significant challenge that threatens the availability of local food supply. With rising food insecurity, it is crucial to optimize agribusiness on narrow plots of land to enhance local food production and support family food security.

The objective of this research is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing agribusiness on small plots of land and to formulate appropriate strategies to improve food security. This research employs a literature study to understand the research context and analyze relevant literature on agribusiness in small plots. A systematic and strategic approach is taken, with data collection being a key step in achieving the research objectives. Primary data is obtained through surveys, interviews, and direct observations at the research site. Respondents (key informants) involved include small farmers, members of farmer groups, and local stakeholders such as agricultural extension workers and related government agencies. Meanwhile, secondary data is collected from official government reports, academic journals, and policy documents related to agribusiness in Palopo City.
