3. TINGKAT STABILITAS HASIL PRODUKSI DAN KARAKTERISTIK SPASIAL PENGEMBANGAN JAGUNG DI KABUPATEN LOMBOK BARAT

The Stability of Production Yield and Spatial Characteristics of Maize Development in West Lombok District

ABSTRAK

Produktivitas jagung di Kabupaten Lombok Barat dalam kurun waktu 1982-2002 termasuk dalam katagori “stabilitas rendah” yang ditandai dengan koefisien keragaman (KK) sebesar 34,123%. Apabila koefisien keragaman hasil ini dapat diperkecil hingga 2,5%, maka rata-rata hasil produksi jagung yang dapat diselamatkan setiap tahunnya sebesar 0,487 ton/ha. Jadi dengan rata-rata luas panen sebesar 5.241 ha, total produksi yang dapat diselamatkan melalui peningkatan stabilitas hasil mencapai ± 2.553 ton (20,42% dari total produksi).

Meskipun di beberapa daerah (kecamatan) jagung merupakan komoditi basis berdasarkan luas areal pengembangannya, namun karena nilai koefisien lokalisasi  dan koefisien spesialisasi yang relatif kecil (kurang dari 0,5), maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kabupaten Lombok Barat belum mengarah ke lokalisasi dan spesialisasi dalam pengembangan jagung.

ABSTRACT

Productivity of maize in West Lombok during 1982-2002 was classified as "low stability" with the variation coefficient equal to 34,123%. If the level of variation coefficient can be minimized up to 2,5%, mean of maize yield that can be saved every year equal to 0,487 ton / ha. Therefore, with an average harvest area equal to 5.241 ha, total maize production that could be secured by increasing yield stability reach about 2.553 ton (20,42% of total production).

Although in some areas (sub-districts) maize represent the basis commodity base on cultivation area, but because of the localization coefficient and specialization coefficient are smaller (less than 0,5), it can be concluded that West Lombok district has not been considered as a localised and specialised as maize production development.
